I worked on the Frances this summer a bit here in Casco Bay. The boat was built in Portland and modeled after the ships that sailed the coast back in the days when sail was the mode of shipping for fish, timber, and granite. Frances is a traditional rigged sloop--and even lacks an engine! It was great to be back on the water and to get to know more of Portland Harbor and Casco Bay. If you're ever in Portland for a visit, it's the best way to see the city!
