Just when I thought spring had sprung, mother nature decided that what we really needed today was more snow. So to spite her, I painted this image from last summer of some friends out for a sail on Cape Cod Bay in Truro. In the background you can just make out Provincetown's Pilgrim Monument. Hopefully it won't be too much longer until it looks like this here in Maine too.

Ahh, how refreshing. I think we needed that. Love that sail.
Thanks Ambera I struggled with this one. I may try it again on a different scale. Did it snow there yesterday?
Ah, struggle. I've been doing little watercolor sketches to get away from the feeling of slavery I'm getting trying to push out paintings.
One thing about posting my work is that I feel like I always have to be 'on'.
Nice job working through it, Cooper.
love the way you've handled the red in the sail with the reflected light and folds. your painting is a cheery retort to this still very chilly weather.
A very nice study.
I love love love this one! I love spots of red in a painting...Especially the ocean scenes, when there is so much blue and neutral, and then POW a little spot of red to wake you up! Great job!
