Westport, Connecticut Gallery Opening Prep
The studio is a mountain of bubble wrap and framing materials today. I keep the car running in the driveway now in case I need to go to the store AGAIN. The desk is covered in checklists and receipts and empty cups of coffee. I can hardly get to the easel, as I'm getting ready for this weekend's opening at "a.gallery" in Westport, Connecticut. I'm really excited for it--many of you probably don't know that I grew up a few miles north of Westport, in Easton. And you probably didn't know the my father passed away a couple of years ago, and that after selling his house, I felt like I had said my final goodbyes to that part of my life. Although I have a lot of family in the area, we rarely get to see each other. So I'm thrilled to be the cause for an occasion for a small celebration back in my old hometown. (I'm guessing the opening will be more reunion than opening--especially when I mentioned to my family about the free food). The gallery owner called me out of the blue to see if I'd like to exhibit, but what really strikes me is that his gallery is literally across the street from where my dad got the train every morning for 30+ years to go to the city! My wife and I are going into the city for the weekend as well--it's been too long. In any event, I'm a bit straight out with framing and packaging and all the last minute things that need to get done. Thank you for all your support and I'll be sure to have a full report when I get home.

Hey Cooper,

You're rolling man, thats great. best of luck with the show. Glad the frames worked out, I hope you get a ton of red stickers on your paintings at the opening. Looks like your blog pieces have been flying out the door.
Your stuff is looking awesome and I have no doubt it will be a big hit in CT.
All my best,
