Shore Road, Monhegan, 6" x 8", Oil on Panel, 2007Long September shadows stretch across the road down to the harbor in this scene from Monhegan. This particular stretch of road is as good as it gets on the island . Much of the road is in rough shape, but only used minimally anyhow as people tend to walk or ride bikes to get where they need to be. It is a great island for exploring because you can walk almost anywhere you'd like to go.

Warm cool warm cool down the lane. Cooper thanks for taking the eyes for a walk. I don't know if I'm off here but I get a dream reality thing going here... De Chirico, Paul Delvaux, Hopper.. some of my favorites. I get that sense from many of your house paintings ... and that elevates the work for me above the plethora of other "house" stuff out there.
